Limitation of Stokes's Law
(1) The stoke's Law is applicable for spherical particles only. The fine clay particles are not spherical in shape.
(2.) Every particles settles independently without interference from other particles as well as from the sides of jar(assumed in Stoke's Law).
(3). The soil Particles in soil suspension may have different values of specific gravity, but in computation the average value of G is used.
(4). The lower limit of particle size for validity of Stock's Law is 0.002 mm. Upper limit for the same is 0.2mm. But the particles (less than 0.002mm and greater than 0.2mm) it is not correct.
